About Dr. Reetika Sharma
Dr. Reetika Sharma is an eye surgeon and one of the directors of Sarvdrishti. She did her MBBS and her MD in ophthalmology at AIIMS, New Delhi, and later worked there as a registrar in the cataract, glaucoma and refractive services.
She has done a large number of cataract and glaucoma operations. Most of her cataract work is by phacoemulsification, where the cloudy lens is broken up and removed through a very small cut. Her other interest is refractive surgery, for people who want to rely less on glasses. Her research and conference work has received awards.
